Lovit

Last updated: August 14, 2026

Introduction

Lovit is a shared wishlist app for couples. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, which companies help us run the app, and what control you have over your data. We’ve written it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

What We Collect

  • Account information: your name and email address, used to create your account and sign you in
  • Wishlist content: item names, product links, images, prices, notes, and occasion information
  • Partner connection: invite codes and pairing information, so you and your partner can share wishlists
  • Gift selection status: which items have been secretly picked, so we can preserve the surprise
  • Notifications: your device’s push notification token and your notification preferences
  • Subscription: your subscription and purchase status
  • Product analytics: the usage data described in the next section

Product Analytics

Lovit uses PostHog (PostHog Cloud US) to understand how features are actually used, so we can improve onboarding, partner pairing, wishlists, notifications, paywalls, purchases, and retention.

PostHog may receive:

  • A pseudonymous account identifier — a random ID, not your name or email
  • A device or installation identifier
  • Technical details such as app version, operating system, device type, and language
  • Screens you view and specific feature interactions you take
  • Whether you have finished onboarding
  • Whether your account is paired with a partner
  • Your subscription status, the plan you select, and the outcome of a purchase flow
  • Categorized outcomes of actions — success, cancellation, or failure

These analytics events can be linked to your Lovit account. They are used only to understand and improve Lovit. They are not used for advertising, and they are not used to track you across other apps or websites.

Session Replay is disabled. Lovit does not record your screen or your sessions.

What We Never Send to Analytics

  • Your name or email address
  • Wishlist item names, notes, product links, prices, or images
  • Partner identifiers or invite codes
  • Passwords or other authentication credentials
  • Message contents or other free-form text you write

AI Gift Ideas

If you use the AI gift suggestions feature, Lovit sends a summary of your partner’s wishlist to OpenAI so it can suggest gift ideas. That request includes your partner’s name, the item names, categories, prices, and notes from their list, and your app language. It does not include email addresses, account identifiers, or login information.

The request is made through our Supabase backend, and OpenAI may search the web to find real products to link to. If you never open this feature, none of your wishlist data is sent to OpenAI.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to provide and improve Lovit. That includes:

  • Displaying your wishlist to you and your connected partner
  • Syncing wishlist updates between partners
  • Sending push notifications when your partner picks a gift
  • Maintaining your account and partner connection
  • Managing your subscription and purchases
  • Understanding which features work and which need improvement

Third-Party Services

Lovit relies on a small number of service providers to operate. Each one only receives the data it needs for its purpose:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, account data, wishlist storage, partner pairing, and file storage
  • PostHog — product analytics
  • OpenAI — generating AI gift suggestions, only when you use that feature
  • RevenueCat — subscription status, entitlements, purchases, and restoring purchases
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and push notification delivery
  • Google — Google authentication, if you choose to sign in that way

Selling and Tracking

Lovit does not:

  • Sell or rent your personal information
  • Use third-party advertising networks
  • Use the advertising identifier
  • Combine your Lovit data with data from other companies for targeted advertising
  • Track you across apps or websites owned by other companies

Push Notifications

Lovit may send push notifications to let you know when your partner picks a gift from your wishlist or when your partner connects. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Storage, Retention, and International Processing

Our service providers retain data only as long as needed to operate and improve Lovit, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

PostHog Cloud US processes analytics data in the United States. Our other providers operate globally and may process data in more than one country, so we don’t claim that all of your data is stored in a single location.

We rely on these providers’ security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, and we limit what each provider receives. No online service can be completely secure, so we can’t promise absolute security — but we do keep the amount of data we collect small on purpose.

Account and Data Deletion

You can start account deletion inside Lovit, under Account Settings. Deleting your account removes your Lovit account, your wishlist, and your partner pairing data.

Automated deletion of historical analytics data is not implemented yet, so past PostHog events may remain after your account is deleted. If you would like your analytics data deleted as well, email us at everton.iosdev@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it.

Your Rights

You can contact us at any time to ask a question about this policy or to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Just email everton.iosdev@gmail.com.

Changes to This Policy

If our data practices change, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the App Store update notes.
